OBIEE installation in Windows 7

Today I tried to install Windows 7 Ultimate on my MAC Air laptop(having bootcamp enabled) specially to see the look and feel and the features available comparing of its earlier counterparts and it seems cool . Its just a polished version of Windows Vista with couple of changes and enhancement made on Taskbar and easy navigation across explorer . In addition it is having cool “Alt+Tab” and “Windows key+Tab”  options to browse through the already open multiple windows . Moreover with my “NVIDIA GeForce 9400M” Display the default Microsoft provided desktop wallpapers looking awesome and perfectly handy with full satisfaction and faith in “Windows 7 Ultimate” .

I just become fan of this with my evaluation copy Bulid 7100 downloaded from one of the famous torrent site . Still just looking for a final and official version of Windows 7 .

Now the bottom-line of the above background is simple .I am now going to install OBIEE v (I don’t have latest patch still)  on my new installed Windows 7 .(Ah ! may I have had the same installer for MAC Leopard OS-X).

Anyway the installation process seems to be simple but it suddently throw the compatibility issue with this version of OS . However done the installation after changing the setup.exe to run in compatibility mode of Windows XP Service Pack 2 .

Voila ! Its done and absolutely cool and working fine with default samplesales.rpd .But one thing I did notice is the Lock icon set against the two BI folder .I have Admin permission and though it is showing like this . Did not bother about investigating these ,specially when all the OBIEE stuffs are working fine, which seems to be new security features of Windows 7 . Will explore it later .
